If you have the liquid vitamins you can just touch the dropper to the edge of his beak and place a drop there. He will eventually open and take it in.
I hope this chick makes it.
And don't feel bad about helping...we all do it at some point...learning is the important thing.

Unfortunately I do not have liquid vitamins, but I can get some if needed. We will pick some up.

You can certainly mix egg yolk up to a smooth consistency to try and feed him. I would not worry too much about him eating, he can live of the yolk, assuming he is absorbing it and it appears that way from the pics, for a couple days. I think more important at this time would be water to keep him from being dehydrated and the vitamins to give him a boost.

If you like you can make a homemade electrolyte solution of: 1/3 teaspoon of potassion chloride (salt substitute), 1/2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), 1 whole teaspoon of sodium chloride (table salt) in 1 quart of water. You want to give 1 teaspoon per gallon of water for at least a week. Use it exclusively in place of regular drinking water. You can decide how to break this down for the little one.
(Electrolytes are calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosperous, potassium & sodium.)
I got this info from the Gail Damerow book: The Chicken Health Handbook - a good one to have.

This little one has quite a bit of dried yolk on him... he needs to be cleaned. How do I go about cleaning him, with the bit of yolk still attached? Should I wait for the yolk to dry up and fall off? What if it does not fall off? How long do I wait? Sorry for all of the questions... just reached a bit of a stopping point and not sure how to proceed.

It's just a substitute for salt that has no sodium but provides potassium. Over here in the states "Morton" brand has one. I know your choices will probably be much different. If you don't have it/can't get it I would use whatever ingredients the recipe calls for I had. Wish I could help more, but it looks as though you're doing a marvelous job taking care of that baby.​

Looks like you are doing everything just right. At the very least I'd get it a little water to drink... put it's beak in it, it will drink it or use a dropper.
