Live Trap Log...

I tried Mallows last night and caught NOTHING, i thought for sure i mgith catch another raccoon, but nope. pretty disappointing. I will use wet cat food tonight and keep my fingers crossed!

I havent seen any rats in quite a while, i think the geese have them scared away again

. I will try for the squirrells later on, after i catch the cat again or if i cant. I REALLY think its the cat doing the killing now, since it happened again after i got rid of the coon.

Have you tried snap traps for rats? I've been on a rodent rampage this year and I am pretty successful using the snap traps. I've caught as many in the snap traps as my husband has shot with the .22. Blasted rodents! My particular bane this year has been chipmunks, but I am open to destroying them all.

Agreed!!!!

Snap traps are the best!!! There is no more satisfying feeling in the world than to see a rat pulverized by one! They work great on squirrels in your attic too. If you can find the hole where they are entering just set it outside where the have to cross over it and POW! Spent a fortune on exterminators and nothing worked until I came up with that idea....attic is squirrel free and hope to have the barn rat free soon.

If you are going to continue using a live trap, get some vanilla extract and pour a little on a vanilla wafer and put it in there....if you ever have somethign robbin your trap, put it in a panty hose, tie it in the middle of the trap, maybe 5 inches from the back and hangin down to the middle of the trap, so they have to work at it to get it. Coon LOVE vanilla, grape jelly, and licorice especially if it is warm weather, it will spread that scent all over the place....experience gleaned from 20 years of coonhuntin lol...
