No momma, and unsure, I was assuming this week. Hopefully should have a few more hatching if I’m lucky

I read that sometimes something is wrong with the lungs. They internally pip, start to breath air, then die when they can't. I had some amerucana/easter eggers do this. I think the ones that died inherited a gene from both parents which can be fatal ( something to do wuth the muffs/tufts?). Sometimes it just isn't ment to be. Sorry for your loss.

You can pop a tiny hole in the air cell to see if chick replies.

I did pierce a little hole in the top just in case it was low on air. Incubator was prepped. I guess poor little chicky just wasn’t meant to be

Should specify - pierced the hole after about 12 hours of no movement

I'm sorry that one passed. Once the others internally pip and are peeping and rocking you can put in a little safety hole but you must make sure the humidity is high enough in the incubator too.
