Living with a hand raised pigeon

At the moment very hot, long summers and good weather up until Christmas but winters can be cold but mostly around the 10 or 12° with many bright sunny days. On rare occasions the temperature goes down to a bit below freezing but that doesn't last long.

I would say then you might be ok with some kind of cubby in an aviary, but nonetheless the birds are probably best off with more of a loft design (some kind of structure with an aviary attached, rather than an aviary with a box inside of it). I notice even on nice days my birds chose to spend good amounts of time inside the loft, for whatever reasons, they have their reasons. They are a cave and cliff dwelling bird, so I think they mostly prefer to be in their loft when they're not flying. Lounging in an aviary I think is more of a secondary place to hang out for them.
