Local price of DE...too much?

I would assume this is the right place to post this considering i'm putting de in the coop. My only local retailer for de is selling for 3.75 per lb. Is that a fair price or should I look into ordering online.

Ordering online tends to be more expensive than begging feed stores to carry or order it for you. My feed store charges 26.00 for a 50 pound bag of food grade DE I have not bought it in awhile I will double check when they open and repost if necessary.

I see that you also live in Tennessee; I get the best price from our local farmer's co-op; I think it is $24.95 for a 40 lb. bag.

I could not find it locally at a reasonable price so I ordered it from countrysidenatural.com located in Va. It was $25.00 for 50lb DE and $16.30 for shipping. Yes, $3.75lb is very high. That comes out to $187.50 for a 50lb bag.

North of Toronto - DE is $17.99 CDN for 20 kg (44 lbs) at the Queensville Country Store.

Works out to about $0.40/lb
