Locating BOSS that won't break the bank

I read on another thread that some people just use the BOSS from the bag to feed the chickens, and grow their own from there. Try sprouting a few to see if yours will come up. Depending, they may have been treated to keep them from sprouting.

Yes you can grow oilseed, and since songbirds are very sensitive to chemicals and stuff, the black oilseed from wild bird seed may work just fine for a starter for growing your own.
