Lock down this afternoon 3 /15 at 4 PM *Last Update*

Oh ok so your on day 20, I have had them hatch on day 20 before its ok any where between day 18 - 21 for them to hatch.

My stomach is in knots lol I hope mine will start day 20 for me too so I can just relax.

Are you kidding? Relax? Forget that... there's no relaxing in hatching!!! I am hearing peeping every now and then and it's so cool!!! I go over there and peep back to them. (There's no one else here.

I know right this is my 6th hatch but the last 2 were total flops thats the only reason I am so worried I will never try to hatch mid winter ever again. Unless I have a very large incubator that will control the temperatures. Previous hatches in the fall were perfect hatches but the temp was between 80 and 75 degrees.

Now our temperature here are between 60 - 80 during the day, I run a small heater at night to keep temperature in the room at 72 degrees.

I keep a thermometer in my bed room so I can watch the temperatures if they change I check my incubator.

This is my first hatch and I've used my niece's LG with fan and turner. I've had some issues with temp myself but I think my problem is the tempermental red control knob on the LG! Sometimes I wanted to pull my hair out!

I try not touching the knob unless its under 99.5 and above 101.9 anywhere between that is just perfect especially if there is a fan, I am hatching in a still air but I incubated in a fan forced LG I added the fan this hatch cause I didn't want problems this time.

As the chicks grow they will change the temp just a tad and you may have to change it. Unless your bator is in a drafty room then it will change a lot.

I have been sitting here for 3 weeks now with this hatch I am working on adding buff orpingtons to my flock, but there will be a few mix breeds in there with my BO roo, Only a few will go to my flock and the rest I plan to sell.

I keep my lap top on the desk where my bators are I have even added a light blanket around the back I take off and put on as needed so I dont have to mess with the knob so much.

Since you've hatched before, let me ask you a question? My first pip was this morning around 5:30 and it looks the same right now 11 hours later. Should I be concerned? I've got my humidity at 65% in there. And the temp is right on, too. I keep telling myself, "You've done all you can do, the rest is up to them." What is your experience with that?
