Lock suggestions?

I have lots of racoons, possums and skunks in my area. I know racoons can undo just about anything. So I am not risking anything and have been using small lock and key master locks. We've had a decent amount of rain exposure and the locks are already starting to stick a bit. Haven't even been through freezing weather. So I was wondering what other people use that can handle weathering well. Or do you just do a weekly greasing of the locks? TIA

A locking carabiner. Raccoons are smart and dexterous but they aren't so much so that they can figure out that device.

My coop doors are actual doors, so they have (cheap!) but effective exterior door knobs that lock, with keys that are hanging on a nail nearby. No raccoon will figure that out! Mary

There are also some hook and eye sets now that have a spring latch on them so critters can't open them. I will try to get a picture.

They make ones that have a rubber case over them and a little flap that closes the actual key part. As for keeping them greased, I use Vaseline on a lot of stuff, keeps the water out and it last for quite a while as it's more a solid than a liquid.

This lock is rust-proof and holds up well. A little WD-40 keeps even regular locks working for a few years here in damp, humid Florida.

Best way to weather 'proof' a padlock is to install a rubber flap over it,
should keep most rain and snow off of it.

Stainless will last forever and not stick. I think I paid about $5 for one at Lowes. I use one for a key ring.

I don't think Raccoons have progressed to point of mastering combination locks but, you could use them and maybe rubber cover for weather protection.
