Lockdown Humidity Question... Fill all water reservoirs?

Yes, plain salt makes much more sense than putting salty water in! LOL Another blonde moment...

Nice find Amy. You could be onto something awesome! I've got an empty bator, maybe I'll load start it up tonight and mess around with some salt. I'm wondering if plain table salt, sea salt, coarse salt, or rock salt would produce much different results too.

One of the studies I was reading last night has chart and diagrams and the whole nine yards on testing different types of salt. I plan on playing with it this week too. Not because I have problems with humidity, but if it would help those that do, that would be great. It's worth experimenting with. I have all four of those salts too....lol. If we both experiment we can exchange our findings...lol

I'm thinking I will start up the incubator and run it a day dry and record humidity levels at morning, noon and night (of course recording the ambient humidty as well.) Then run it a day with the table salt and try to record at about the same times. Each day, use a different salt recording the results.

Your lack of humidity problems is a perfect reason for you to test! You wouldn't have to worry as much about other factors that may have affected your results. I don't have humidity issues either, and if we can help others, that's just more beautiful!

I'm working this week, so multiple readings throughout the day won't be possible for me, but I could do some testing aimed more toward a quick fix scenario. Maybe play with different amounts of salt to see how quickly it could help... in a pinch... lol pun intended

I check mine am, pm and at 3 am when the dog wakes me to go out... have kept a diary of all fluctuations/changes in hopes that it would help us get a successful hatch if this one doesn't work out.

Oh my goodness! Came home to 3 eggs with tiny triangular cracks in them! 2 of the Nankin eggs and a Sumatra egg! How long until they get out of there? I don't want them to die trying to get out! 2 of the 3 are wiggling around, it's quite exciting! My husband, my son and myself are all carefully crowded around the window. That window is not big enough! We are so excited!
