Lockdown humidity

First timer incubating. I went into lockdown this morning and added water before we left. When I came back home the hygrometer read 77% humidity. Is this ok or do I need to lower it? In order to lower it I would have to remove the eggs to remove some water.

That's pretty high, but as long as you DONT add anymore water I think you'll be okay. But if it climbs any higher I think you should drain some water.

Awww! I love silkies, your going to have to show us pics when they hatch! And yes, the eggs will still be fine, just don't let the humidity get any higher! Good luck!

It's a touch high , but I wouldn't take out water . you can cover part of the water well if you want . If the condensation covers the viewing windows you might want to do that .Good luck

I think it’s fine. I shoot for 70%-75% at hatch. But I also open the incubator to pull out shells, chicks and check on eggs. So I like to know it’s high enough to compensate for a quick open. Also hatch silkies most of the time!
