I am a newbie at this chicken and hatching thing, but am now seriously addicted. Officially, this will be my 3rd batch of eggs. After this one, I am cutting myself off and lending the bator to a friend!

I set 14 cuckoo maran eggs.

Anyone want to join my craziness?

I guess I should tell you what I'm setting shouldn't I? I have at least 3 mutt eggs from the little hen we have now, if she lays anymore they will be put in as well. Have a dozen EE eggs in the mail as well.... Ooooooooh just checked the DC, they are here!!!!! So I'll be setting tomorrow morning!!!!

They are here!!!! I got them all unwrapped and they look perfect, may even set this evening

So far I have 13 unless my mutt hen decides to lay today, she took yesterday off so we'll see, hers are the salmon colored ones :

I have duck and Ameraucana eggs both due on the 22nd also. Although, the past few batches of ducklings got restless and decided to hatch out a day or two early.... little overachievers!

We also have chicks due to hatch on the 4th, 12th, and 15th, and more ducks on the 11th. The hatcher is going to be a busy place with all these little fuzzies.

Adding a 4th mutt egg to the mix!! If she's early enough tomorrow I may sneak it in the bator, that would give us 15 to hatch.

On a side note, I like this less aggressive roo we have, the other would be standing by the nest pail waiting for her to get out so he could jump her again right there on the little plank of wood, this guy waits on the floor until she gets down there with him.

my hatching date is 9/21.
First timer here, very excited about it.
I am incubating 6 eggs I got from a farm in upstate NY, the chicks will be born in New York city, hopefully!
Is there anyone else from NY?

Yea for hatch buddies!

Ours were set last night as well--17 in the 'bator and 15 under the hens--18 Ameraucanas from Dipsy Doodle Doo and 14 from our own mixed flock. We have hatched and are hatching several batches of our own using our broodies but this is our first time with the 'bator. I wanted the kiddos to "see" the babies hatch this time. Sooooooooo nervous! I don't want them to be disappointed. I have been obsessing over the incubation threads

DH says it is time to find something else to worry about for a while
