LOCKDOWN--I HAVE PIPS!- Hatch Date 9/22/09ish

Well we had a bad morning. Had a storm roll through last night, knocked out power for a bit and when it came back on apparently the bulb in the bator blew. It was 84 this morning. Replaced the bulb and let it warm back up then went on to do damage control from the storm, checked it 45 minutes later and it was 109. I still feel sick about it. Candled the karate kid egg who is always moving but didn't see much movement at all, doesn't look like the yolk is totally absorbed either.

I may have lost this hatch

I just went to the bathroom, the incubator is in my master half bath right were I have room to put a tub one day, to check the temp/humidity..... I heard CHEEPING!!!!!!!! #3 mutt egg is cheeping!! Another of my karate eggs #2 was/is Karate Kid (the one with the pecking at the air cell when candled on Sunday), I think this one will either be Miagi or Danielson. We were toying with names for these guys last night

Well we have had one problem after another with power outages, humidity, and one temp spike (107:/) but this morning we have cheeping and movement, so we are holding our breaths that some of them will make it. The kiddos are nearly as excited as I am

Well I was in the bathroom again, closing off the AC vent so there wouldn't be massive fluctuating temps tonight and I heard a loud crack, then a scrape.... Looked in the bator window and 'Miagi' is trying to pip!! There's just a hairline crack right now but as soon as he makes a hole I'll get a pic, attempt to get a pic anyway

So far no other egg is cheeping though

And I thought the world had conspired against me on my first hatch. Granted only the mutts are pipping and one of the looks like it has black feathers..... it's still better than nothing!
