Lockdown in 2 days

Thanks for your reply. That puts me more at ease. I popped the 2 little red caps so air could go in. Humidity stayed at 70 is this fine.

You're good. Don't open the incubator until they've all hatched. The humidity has to stay high, above 65%.

I teach at USF and every class I tell my students about my eggs and the farm and what's new and OH MY GOSH WHY AM I HERE AND NOT WATCHING THE INCUBATOR --- CLASS DISMISSED!!! :)

Lol...I was telling my students that my hobby was raising furry chickens...you should have seen the looks from the students from the Bronx. Hysterical!

Do you have students asking about how to eat the eggs? I've legitimately have undergrad students ask me how I 'process' the eggs to eat them.

1) take them out of the coop
2) wipe with towel
3) Frying Pan...

it blows their minds that I don't have to "send them to a factory to process" and that frightens me...

They have no clue where there food comes from. I was telling them that I started an organic farm because of the need to grow my own healthy food that wasn't manipulated in DNA structure. Blank faces. I can only hope one day something clicks. I do have about four dairy farm kids in there. Very diverse crew.

Here is my first chick. Birchen marans eggs.
