Lockdown in 2 days

So how do you show them to eat and drink. One knocked it out. I showed others where the water was and food. Some drank hut not eat. Today is the end of the second day. Are they still going of the egg? And not so hungry yet?
Y our hand is mom and every time my hand gpes near the food or water they come to see what "mom" is doing. Once a few got the idea to eat and drink the rest followed. But they still want to see what "mom" is doing every time my hand goes near the food and water.

Haha yes everytime I would put my hand in, The one who hatched first would run to my hand. Cutest thing

Do you have a thermometer under the light? Should be about 95 there for the first week, 90 the second week, 85 the third week...and so on until you get to room temp.

The other side of the brooder where the food and water is should be room temp...like 70 degrees.

Make sure they get fresh air but no drafts.

The only chick I had that was on its side was my very first chick that I fried under the heat lamp. He was dead 9 hours later.

For the first week I grind up the food so it's more of a flour consistency.

They should all be eating. If not, check the temps in your brooder.

Cleaning the incubator I used the Brinsea disinfectant solution. Or even water and dish soap & vinegar

When I put mine in the brooder, I dip their beaks in the water. The food is right next to it and they always find that right away. I make sure they have enough room to get away from the heat lamp if they get too warm. Mine are still in the incubator. Six out of fifteen have hatched. One is unzipping and two more have pipped. Not sure about the others, we'll find out!

Congratulations on your new little ones!

Congratulations to you as well. Love the avatar. I just hatched a few polish last Thursday and Friday.

Is that a Silkie in yours?  Four out of six of my Silkie eggs have hatched so far.  My first time with this breed.
It is and unfortunately none of mine hatched this time. I rescued her when she was about 4 weeks old. She is now about 13 weeks old and she is so cute. First silkie I have ever owned.

Aww, I'm sorry. I'm really hoping my other eggs that haven't shown anything yet will hatch.
