That little silkie is just pipping away she seems so determined and hasnt really zipped but just made a large hole on the bottom of her egg. I had to reach in and flip it over around 2 am so she could get out and not she is just making the hole bigger.

Well my chick isnt doing anything different than she was 3 hours ago. Just pecking at a place where the membrane already been pecked through. I think she is very confused. There is a big place of shell she needs to get off and she just dosnt get it. What should I do?

Well, from what I have read if you want this chick you should help. I would say that she is not going to get out on her own. The decision is yours to make. Some on this site do help and others do not.

I would help but not completely take the chick out of the egg.... when I have this problem I use my fingernail to kind of make a zipper for the chick so all they have to do is push their way out when they are ready. I have had more live by helping this way than I have by taking them completely out of the egg. I have had a few chicks that were just too big to turn and make the zipper. so this helps them out a bit.

Good luck!!

I took out the egg and widened the hole and remover the membrane. I have no tooth mic so that is all i could do. Im going to try to post a pic but she is peeping loudly.
