What are you planning to do with the extras?
I have chickens and a rooster at my moms. I plan to take the extra hens there. Any silkie roosters I'm gunna put on Craigslist for sale, And then mix breed roosters will be butchered to eat.
:) I get eggs from my mom but hopefully I'll have enough eggs with 6 hens once the chicks are big enough to lay eggs

How many eggs you have that are supposed to hatch today? I'm excited for you. When they all hatch post a picture of how successful it was :D

Ok I will post a picture of all of them when they are all done hatching. So far I have 9 chicks that hatched out and 5 more eggs that need to still hatch. So so so happy! This is my best hatch ever so far. I tried it a little diff this time and had some darn good eggs. Here are a couple pic's for you to all see so far of what I have taken all ready.

Be careful with that type of feeder, I've had one in the past and had new chicks get stuck up in the glass and die over night. I'd check before bed nobody in there get up in the morning and there would be a dead chick in it. I suggest taking the jar off til they are bigger so they can't fit in there.

I hope it's not too late to join! It's been great reading about all your hatches

I have 7 mixed breed chicken eggs just gone into lock down, 4 are bantam as the mum is a light Sussex bantam the other 3 are large fowl, the mum being a nice Rhode Island red. I have hatched eggs from the Sussex before but never the Rhodie so I'm excited as to how they are going to turn out! will post pics when they have hatched, they are due on Wednesday, here's dad, he's a cross between a Lohmanns and a Faverolle!
My babies are here! all 7 hatched successfully and are now in the brooder
