I have 6 pips now & one is zipping a little...

Ok, I moved the 8 out of incubator into temp. brooder. Here they are. The huge white one is from an Ias egg, the rest are from BCM egg ( two black chicks), and welsummer eggs ( 1 black chick, and the rest of the light colored chicks.)

I had 4 remaining eggs after my hatch yesterday (2 successful) I candled the 4 I had, decided 2 weren't fertilized. Since I don't know what i am looking for when I candle, I need help!! The 2 I have left are EE eggs so they're green. From what I can tell, there is a huge dark spot that takes up about 1/3 to 1/2 the egg. Is this a chick, or an enlarged air pocket? How long after my first hatch do I leave these in there with no activity?

The green and blue eggs are tricky. I couldn't see much going on in mine either. I'd leave them alone and keep an eye on them. If they start seeping, or smell funky take them out. They don't sound like they are clear, so there is something going on in there. Last time I did a hatch someone told me to give any left over eggs at least a few days after day 22. She even said she has had an egg hatch on day 26. So, Just keep an eye on them, if there isn't any sign of life after a few days I'd stop.

I couldn't bring myself to do an eggtopsy last time. I just kept very meticulous notes ( this time too ) I looked back at them later, and made adjustments this time around to where I thought the issues were. I also read a lot of threads on here, and saw pictures posted from other folks which were VERY helpful.

I only got two my first hatch out of 15 eggs. It's a long story about why I incubated them.

I'd definitely leave those guys in for a little bit longer, and watch. I have 4 eggs left still in the incubator. 2 of those were questionable when I went in lockdown, but the other two had movement. They may have quit, but considering what I did have hatch I'm not complaining.

Such cute babies mener!

I agree, don't give up hope on the others just yet.. my friend had a chick hatch at 25 days just recently, it was tired & small, but it's doing fine now..
