I posed about a lone button quail. I got a reply from someone saying they have 3 males to spare. Of course I won’t take all three. I don’t know my quails sex yet. I was wondering if you could keep two males together? I feel like mine might be a male but I’m not sure. My quail seems okay but I know they should be kept in groups. I wouldn’t call my quail aggressive but not exactly friendly. As chicks they would snuggle, but peck a bit at the other one. If anyone could give me any advice it would be appreciated :)

if multiple males are raised together and there are no females, they can get along (a bachelor pad of sorts) if given enough space and enough females, multiple pairs can be housed together without issue. i currently have 2 breeding pair in my aviary.

Usually, two male buttons can get along. The introduction needs to be done carefully, since just putting them together can cause serious injury or even death (although at other times it causes no trouble at all), and I suggest you introduce them in a cage that is new to both of them, large and has many places to hide and shelves to jump onto (to get away from a pursuer) - preferably after you've kept them side by side (separated by a single layer of wire so they can interact but not seriously hurt each other) for a week or so. Keeping them in a room with dim lighting and no more than 10 hours of light a day might also help.
Every now and then you are unlucky and the personalities just clash and nothing you do can make them coexist peacefully, but following the guide above should reduce the risk to a point where it's pretty much the same as with a male/female pair.
