My gosh aren't they cute! as everyone said that is the oil gland quite visible on lighter birds. Do continue to update, love to see how these turn out! They probably want mama that would be the adult ducks appeal to them.

Unfortunately, they're not always carrying themselves quite so tall.It would be cool to have some runners, though. Blue Swedish is definitely a strong possibility, though I can't seem to find any breed of duck yet that has a defined collar like that. Oh, and thanks for the gland information! None of my ducks so far have been light enough for it to be visible.
The three little guys have been given names now, too. They showed up on a friend's birthday, so I let her pick out a few names. The largest one with the solid black bill and defined collar (which I'm assuming is male) is Brulee, the one with mottling around her nostrils (assuming female) is Flan, and the remaining one (also assumed female) is Mallow.
Maybe some breeds of ducks have paler mouths? I haven't inspected any duck mouths lately..
