Chirping
I had a small backyard flock of 4. Beautiful Light Brahmas. I called the, Pink Ladies. I lost 2 of my girls while away on vacation, last year, to a possum. My 2 remaining girls have done very well considering and the duo has adjusted well to the smaller flock. However, a few months ago, I began having some health issues with my sweet Rizzo. We have fought long and hard, but sadly, she passed away today. I am absolutely heartbroken. And looking at Marty all alone.... hurts even more.
My sweet Marty, who was always lead Hen, has spent the last couple of days alone outside, while her sick companion rested inside. Now, she is completely alone. I don’t know what to do. I love my girl so much, but I know that chickens should never live a solitary life. It’s not fair to her. So while it kills me, I need to find her a new home. Im hoping to find a small flock, no Roo, and preferably close. (Maybe someone who wouldn’t mind sending a pic from time to time and keeping me posted) This girl seriously means so much to me. She is not just a chicken to me and I NEED her to go to someone who understands this and cares for their birds with lots of LOVE and COMPASSION. I need to know she will go to a good home where she can spend her final years being spoiled and loved.
SHE IS NOT FOOD.
She is strong. Beautiful. Healthy. I’ve never had any heath issues with her. She will be 4 in March. I still get eggs occasionally. With this heat, they would always stop laying during summer months and again during winter.
She survived a raccoon attack a couple of years ago. After being inside recovering for 3 wks, she quickly became my favorite girl. She was at the top of the pecking order, but is so sweet. She will never peck or chase you. Honestly, the best bird you could ask for. If you are interested, please let me know. I just keep telling myself, someone, will be the right fit for my girl and see this. Thanks for reading my ramble
