hey guys. On Wednesday one of my ducks got taken by a fox. I posted about it asking about getting another duck so the one survivor would have a friend. I have searched for an older duck for sale, and finally found a place but they are only selling drakes. My duck is a female. What should I do? I don’t any want problems from just having a 1:1 ratio of female and male ducks, but Peggy (my duck) is so lonely, and searches for her old friend every morning. I put out a mirror, and she just looks at it, then runs to the other side of it thinking he’s there. Eventually she just sits and stares at her reflection quacking. It’s sooo sad and she doesn’t like me to touch her anymore either. Should I just risk it and get a male duck? It’d be a lot better than her being alone. I’d appreciate any advice y’all might have.
