Long Distance Friendships :-(

Well.... I did live in Ohio for a while (Troy)... and we went on a drive over to Indianapolis (sp? geesh!).... *Rebecca shudders*.. big cities..

I know... and yes... booo hooo.. she left me too. But, she was only here for a few years.. and she didn't spend her whole childhood with me.. so I understood. I'm just ready for her to come back now!

I was so sad the day she left.. I remember I couldn't say much of anything. I just get too easily attached I suppose

I tried to work on the hardening my heart thing once... it didn't work.

I cant imagine growing up with a friend from baby-hood and then loosing them.

We can just take a road trip to California and kidnap her.
Ermm..is it still called kidnapping if you steal an adult?

And on our way back, we can go through Las Vegas and steal my friend.
We still talk sometimes, but we're not nearly as close as we used to be.
It's kind of awkward when we do talk, almost like we don't even know how to act around each other..

Hey-I live near you! Well, not too far, anyway!

Greenville, Indiana is almost four hours away! Lol.

No-Greenville OHIO!

I am about an hour east of Muncie.

Hehehehe! I actually suggested that to her yesterday through facebook! I'm also trying to convince her to get a house silkie and come over to the forums!

It would be really great if I could get her over here!

Then I have another good friend named Tani (I know.. Tanya and Tani
roll.png
Hard!) I met her in flight attendant training. She is such a nice girl. I always had to take up the roll of the more assertive one with her.. because she was even more sheltered than I was.

Then 2 months out of training.. she joined the Navy
ep.gif
Which was not something I expected! She has been in for over 2 years now.. on the USS Washington (and while they were in Japan!)... then she got sent back to Virginia to work on supplies for it. We thought it was great, for about a month, that we could talk on the phone and stuff... then I realised we have hardly anything in common... besides real life conversations.. theres nothing to talk about that we share.

Tani is afraid of every. last. animal. on. the. planet. and theres nothing left for me to talk about, then! She got a bit upset when I tried to gently talk her into a hamster...
hu.gif
I suppose I made a hash of it... She asked if they have teeth....

She wants to talk about video games and technical doo-daas all day.. not my forte... LOL.

I think it's cute when I say doo-daa and thing-a-ma-gig... and she thinks if she tells me the names every time, I will somehow magically start remembering them all. LOL!

She should come to the forums anyways! She can come and check out other chickens, and maybe she'll decide to get one.
Or...move to our farm with us!

Your other friend got upset over a hamster?!
I'm sorry, but sometimes you've just got to get over it. Lol. (Says someone who's afraid of yellow candy)

What about cats and dogs? Was she afraid of them?

I used to have a pet rat.
When he was about five, he got cancer.
The tumors started growing out of his belly and they got so big that they'd rub on the bottom of his cage, making open sores.
I finally felt so bad for him that I wanted to put him out of his misery.
I heard of ways to do it by putting them in jars and stuff, but I couldn't do it..

My grandma took me and the rat to our equine vet, and he euthanized him for us. Then I took him home and buried him.

Yes... a road trip is in order!

You know what else they have in California?? Betta fish shows and sales and Plumeria tree shows and sales!
I wanted to hop over there soo much last fall when they were going on, and come back with a carload of goodies!

My bettas are trying to breed right now... they've wrapped twice.. no eggs yet.. The male has a bubblenest about 12 inches long! Only about 2 inces wide though.. but its something to see!

<*Googles 'Plumeria trees'*>

Wow! Those have really pretty flowers! How do they show those?
Do you like Cherry Blossom trees too? Those are super pretty. I think it's Washington that has the festival for them.

What does it mean they've 'wrapped'?
Excuse my ignorance, I know nothing about fish.
I think I told you how I killed the ones I bought that one time..
