Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

So, Sjisty, I was wondering what your Brahma's temperaments are like? Especially your roosters. Are they docile? And I'm assuming, because of all your wonderful posts of the adventures of the citizens of Brahmalot, that they are very good protectors of their flocks.

The citizens of Brahmalot are a friendly, easy-going lot. While some are rather aloof, many are thrilled to get lap and petting time.

Even the King and princes are friendly, although sitting on this scribe's lap is a major blow to their dignity. The newest prince, George, absolutely loves to be picked up and cuddled, although that will probably change as he gets older.

Old King Rocky, when much younger, used to like to flog the neighboring giants with his wings when their backs were turned. He never tried to hurt or spur, and this scribe thinks it was a favorite game. When his target turned around to look at him, he would stop dead in his tracks and act like he was just standing around. This happened for about a year, and then he seemed to take his kingly duties more seriously and stopped the game.

Your young king is lovely. He will grow to be a large and docile protector. My girls were lucky enough to share my Brahma kingdom with a Brahmalot former prince, named Oscar. He was with us for a short time as an unexpected peril befell him, but while he was King of our land, he was an exceptionally kind and non-aggressive caretaker of his hens. We have missed his gentle, but very large demeanor in the land South of Brahmalot.

Wow it took me two days to get through this! It has been great. Keep up the good work!

I was pleasantly suprised to find out that not all Brahmas are evil like my dark brahma I had a couple years ago.Keep writing I can't wait to hear more.

More excitement for Brahmalot. A new beast (of the pit bull variety) came to the kingdom. The neighboring giants heard a commotion and ran to give aid. One of the citizens was being shaken like a ragdoll! The beast was chased away. The poor Lady was nowhere to be found. Finally, after a thorough search of the kingdom, she was found, alive but injured. By miracle, it appears no bones are broken, but she has many large patches without skin and several puncture wounds. She will be cared for by a friend of the neighboring giants until their return from vacation next week, at which time, if she has survived, she will convalesce at the giants' house. The friend has been given antibiotics and medications and will take good care of her.

The beast will be shot on sight if he returns ... SSS.

This scribe is praying for a full recovery (the one on the right) of this sweet Lady.

Oh, Sjisty,
She is a lovely girl. Am praying that the neighboring giants' friends will be able to take care of her til you return. We wait in fear here at the south end of Brahmalot also for demons that wait, lurking, and we are very nervous about our 3 week trip out of the kingdom, as the red devils stay watchful at the bottom of the property now.

MY HEART DROPPING IN MY GUT AFTER READING THIS!! I am saying my prayers for poor Miss Hen that she is able to recover. Bless the Giants friends for avoiding a much more horrible situation.. :love WHY WHY WHY do things like this happen when one is gone???? :barnie

The until now unnamed Lady has earned her name - She is Hope. This squire's friend called tonight and reported she ate well tonight, eating a scrambled egg laced with antibiotic. She is moving and walking well. Her wounds have been medicated and although horrible to see, seem to be only skin and muscle with no broken bones. If she survives the next day or so, Lady Hope will have a good chance of recovering. For now, she will be living inside the house of the friend, protected and pampered.

Meanwhile, the kingdom of Brahmalot has been made safer with the addition of another gate. The children are secured in the nurseries and will not explore the grounds for the next week. The one who will be visiting the kingdom while the neighboring giants are away is aware of the beast and of the extra precautions to keep him from the kingdom. The giants, and this scribe, are going to lands far away for a week. Hopefully, all will be at peace while they are away.
