Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

The until now unnamed Lady has earned her name - She is Hope. This squire's friend called tonight and reported she ate well tonight, eating a scrambled egg laced with antibiotic. She is moving and walking well. Her wounds have been medicated and although horrible to see, seem to be only skin and muscle with no broken bones. If she survives the next day or so, Lady Hope will have a good chance of recovering. For now, she will be living inside the house of the friend, protected and pampered.

Yay for Lady hope! Tell your friend to keep up the good work!

Lady Hope is recovering nicely during her extended sleepover at the friend's house. Her injuries are hidden under her wings, but you can see the tail is missing. She is enjoying the latest fashion in hats, though. This scribe will be happy to see her upon her return from vacation in a few days.

SO glad to hear that Lady Hope is getting better and that she feels well enough to get dressed even! ;) Cute hat....

A month or two ago we had an evil bandit get in to the coop and snatch Little Pretty right off of her nest. Luckily I was awake and heard the commotion and got out to the coop to save her. I wasn't sure she'd make it. Nearly ripped off her wing, large patches of skin, even missing toes. Neck was also ripped open. I cleaned her up, Triple A-ed her for the first few days and that was such a problem. I ended up using red coat-scarlet oil- and she made a full-almost-recovery. The eggs however died because I didn't think... The oil got on the eggs, killed the embryos. But Little Pretty survived. I just got updated pics, but they're on my camera yet.

She's fully feathered in now, beard and all. Yes, that was ripped out too. For some reason with my touchpad I can't post the pic of right afterthe attack or when she was covered in red oil.

Bless you for being there to save her and heal her!!!! :hugs :love :cd

This scribe is back from vacation and eager to return Lady Hope to her home, although it will be a long time before she will be outside with her friends. The thought of 17-pound King Samson mounting her with all her healing wounds ... it looks like the neighboring giants have another house chicken for a while!
