To answer your question, fowl pox comes in two forms; wet and dry. Dry is when they have the raised welts around the head, wet form is when they get cheezy-like growths inside their mouth, in the ears and eyes, it can also travel down the throat and enter the lungs. It IS treatable, but I am finding in small chickens it is alot harder to treat and it takes them alot longer to recover.
Wet fowl pox is also called mouth canker and it is a virus.
