Love the pics. Just found for 4 month old hens and roo's for 10.00 ea and they are registered!!!! Getting them this saturday with 15 ordered in FEB, can't wait. Now, where did I put my glasses........

what happens when you cross different colours of brahmas?

Most of the neat colors of the citizens of Brahmalot come from crossing different colors of Brahmas. Prince Choco's mother is a black Brahma, and his father is King Samson, a red splash. Princess Bluebell has a black Brahma mother and a light Brahma father, King Rocky. Snow White and Princess Chitti are Princess Bluebell's and King Samson's children. The colors get more interesting the further away the generations get from the three recognized colors of buff, light, and dark.

I personally like the mixed up colors. They are definitely more interesting to look at!

I got weird colors when I crossed a white silkie and a black silkie. I got a buff and blue, a black with gold leakage, a solid black and a white splash who is starting to show some salmon coloring on her wings... I hope it isn't a boy.... LOL. I wouldn't have ever guess I would have ever guessed a buff and blue would pop out of that combo...

These are Lady Red and Lady Big Red. They are King Samson's ancestors (great aunts), and their color is called red splash.

She looks like a red hen with freshly fallen snow on her.... I LOVE it!
