Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Queen Frack is retiring from the throne! Her story begins nearly 6 years ago, when she was hatched and raised by old Queen Chrissie.

While a young girl, Princess Frack was brutally molested by a rooster, who immediately thereafter went on a quest to a foreign land. Poor Frack was pretty severely ripped up on both sides, requiring a prolonged mending time at the house of the neighboring giants. She soon made herself at home.

Princess Frack soon healed and rejoined the kingdom. She eventually married the king, becoming Queen Frack; however, one day she came back to the giants' house for a prolonged visit.

Queen Frack knew the giants' house was a good and safe place to have her (foster) babies until they were old enough to brave the world.

Over the years, Queen Frack has been a frequent and welcome visitor to the land of the giants.

Now, Frack is stepping down as queen. She has laid many eggs for her kingdom, although only raised the one family. At almost 6 years old, she lays very infrequently and is content to live out the rest of her life without the duties of queen. We love you, Queen Frack. You will always be welcome and the giants hope you have many more years to visit and bring joy to their household.

The choosing of the new queen will now begin. Stay tuned!

Old Queen Mother Chrissie is the oldest chicken in Brahmalot at just over 6 years old. She is a bantam of unknown breed and has mothered hundreds of foster chicks over the years. The next in age would be Court Jester Romeo, who came to Brahmalot just after Chrissie. Old King Rocky would be next. He will turn 6 on Christmas Day, and then Queen Frack who is only a month or so younger than him (we did lose her sister, Frick). Brahmalot has many citizens who are between 5 and 6 years old - Ebony and Big Bertha (Jersey Giants), China (buff Brahma), Domino, Oreo, and Maria (light Brahmas), quite a few nameless partridge Brahmas (can't tell them apart), Patches (gold laced Cochin), and many others that this poor scribe is forgetting off the top of her head!

I can't wait to hear who you choose for the new queen! Staying tuned!

Does anyone still lay an egg here or there?

Most everyone still faithfully lays. Only Queen Frack, who has been extremely pampered and is a bit overweight, has slowed down considerably, but will still lay daily for about a week, then nothing for a month or more, and then again daily for a while. As queen, she is much too important to spend much of her day in the royal laying box. She has more important duties such as tasting all dishes to see if they are fit for her subjects.
