Princess Jiffy and Princess Peeps are blue partridge Brahmas, this scribe's personal favorite color. Prince Marco is a blue partridge, also. We also have Ladies Tinkerbell, Skippy, Freckles, JJ, and a couple of other blue partridge ladies. Prince Lucky was a regular (or gold) partridge, as is Lady Petunia and several others who are unnamed (because this scribe can't tell them apart). Brahmalot also has a few black Brahma ladies and is working on blue and blue laced black Brahmas. Two light Brahmas (Old King Rocky and Nemo the Terrible), one dark Brahma (Queen Frack), one buff Brahma (Lady China), two lemon pyles (Lady Buttercup and Prince Oscar), red splash (King Samson), and several other interesting colors (like Prince Choco) round out the Brahmas of Brahmalot. Our non-Brahma family includes Court Jester Romeo and his Lady Juliet (seramas), Lady Patches (gold laced Cochin), Queen Mother Chrissie (unknown breed Brahma), her son, Prince Christopher (half Brahma), and two Jersey Giants (Ladies Blackie and Bertha). Brahmalot numbers 40-ish permanent citizens and many, many young knights and ladies who grow up and go on quests for kingdoms of their own.

Brahmalot is also home of Ruby (Australian Shepherd), champion of Brahmalot, Grace and Tobi (scarlet macaw and yellow-collared macaw), Tater (Caique, which is a type of parrot), and the two neighboring giants, Kent and Janice.

Thanks!! Someday I'm going to get a Blue Partridge Brahma. What am I gona to name it?.......Princess Jiffy Pop. Maybe with a Jr. at the end. We'll see. But don't you have a Jiffy Junior? I won't copy you if you do.

Princess JJ is short for Jiffy Junior, but she will be happy to share her name! She is seen here with Nemo the Terrible.

Stepping out of Brahmalot mode for a minute -

The plan is to keep everyone penned for a few days. We have 4 coops with covered runs. Our 60-ish chickens will be kind of crowded and we will have to keep the roos in separate cages so they don't fight, but it's do-able. That gives me and my shotgun a chance to kill the beast or maybe he will just move on when there's no easy food. The game camera is going to be out tonight aimed at his probable path, which is down the driveway. When he took Danny earlier, he ran straight up the driveway and across our dirt road into the woods on the other side of the street (dropping Danny in the street). Later in the day, he was in a buffer area of about 12 feet between the back yard (where the chickens free-range) and the boundary fence that goes around the entire 3 acres that we have. If I catch him in the main yard again, my first plan is to run close the gate at the street, which hopefully will slow him down enough for me to get a shot or two. If he's coming out during the day because he's rabid, then it's probably a good thing I didn't catch up with him this afternoon armed with nothing but my shovel, which was the nearest thing I had at the time! Anyway, be patient, Brahmalot stories are going to be on hold for a little bit. Wish me luck!
A shovel will bring down a coyote....
