Long worm coming out of chicken's rear end.....is that normal?

I found this worm coming out of my chicken's rear end this morning. I had to pull it out. It does not appear to be moving but do I need to de-worm the entire flock? We have 10 chickens total. What should I do, what is it and how can we prevent it in the future? Help. We are first time chicken owners and do not know if this is normal. Thanks for your input and help!

That is not a worm. It appears to shed intestinal lining which is normal on occasion. If you havnt wormed your birds, it might be a good idea to do so.
