Longtails! PURE AND MIXED!!!

So far, my Yokonix has lost his long tail feathers.. saddle feathers came in fuller so they look nice.. but I've not seen anything dramatic coming out his back side. I sure hope keeping my pair apart is gonna be worth it for all of us! I'll try to remember that photo. the little yoko hen is such a soft lemony white.... cute little bird.

Hey Sarge, does your roo do ok with a shackle on his leg? I was considering one for mine for summer time.

Those stewart long tails are beautiful!

Hope all are doing well.

he loves being on his cord I have an old hose that I made a loop perch swing for him... he will sit there for hours just there and fly atop his pen and just bathe in the sun! he hasn't been on it in a while due to the constant drenching we have gotten over the past few weeks... but as soon as he comes home from school he is going back on it! he is getting a good looking tail! my yokies are all molted and in blood feather now so I will get to see the tail growth on my boy from start to finish! so excited!!!
Onagadori has some jaw droppers!!! I cant wait to have some like that one day!

Do you have any more pics of your game longtail crosses? I have been thinking about that cross but not sure I want to put my girls thru that pain... Maybe I could breed a softie?

Hey, I will l get somemore pictures this afternoon. I do not use game roosters I use game hens and phoenix roosters. I do not like american game roosters. I actually didn't mean to get long tailed game fowl, but one of my american game hens had gotten in the pen with my only silver phoenix rooster at the time and now I have a lot of them. I started using different colored hens to get a better variety. :)

Longtailed game rooster. I hope his tail gets longer but if it doesn't I have him in with pure silver phoenix hens. So at least his babies should have longer tails.

So there may be hope that Mr. Ed's tail will grow back in? Blue Boy ripped out all of his long tail feathers... he's got an awesome set of saddles and hackles. He moved himself into the garage, and now has an oddball assortment of ladies. I figured what the heck... he doesn't have the long tail now... boohoo.. but if there's hope!! I'll get up pics of Red Devil and Ed... Silly, gotta show the pair... Yokonix... LOL great new mix name. LOL

That is a great New name!
As for the tail... How old is he! If he is under a year then he should grow back after his first molt if he has already had his first molt it might be a good hot minute before he gets it back. The key is segregation. Keep him away from the girls until theyes come out of blood feather.

OH, those poor girls will be so devastated... I am not kidding. He's got a faverolles hen, a silkie hen, a mutt hen, a japanese hen and Ekta the serema that follow him around and love on him like he's the greatest thing since cracked corn. LOL Yes... a silkie and a favie... Imagine that combo if I were to hatch... OH WAIT!! I have a silkie on some eggs right now... I figured, what the heck, she's in her 3rd broodiness period, but this is the first time to let her actually do it... We'll see what happens. LOL OMG can you imagine the histerical looks that could make? BTW, we eat out mutt boys and keep the mutt girls for eggs... SOOO... And usually only let mutt eggs hatch out out of breeding with intent season, so.... LOL. A fuzzy, puffy faced, silkinix... Phoenerolle... Favernix.... Philkie... LOL Anyway, we'll see what happens.
