I use rubbermaid containers for the first couple of weeks. I keep the heat lamp about 30-36 inches above it when I'm using a 250w bulb.

Well at least I am good for something! Maybe I will go into the professional game-giving trade... And i will charge for my services in the form of fluffy butts or brood building!
 
ooh I like it! I mite have to make something like that for my Broody House. it an 8x8 coop with a 5x2x2 brooder, and run, I'll be useing for chicks and broody. But I need another brooder

OOOO! Thats a good height! My friend had hers cut to fit the lid. It really scared me...
