....but just in case I get a none shareing boody mama another safe space would be good. plus I want to keep track of bloodlines.

AWESOME brooder!!! MY month old chicks are getting to big for their tupperware bin, and it's def too cold here to put them out in the shed for at least a cpl weeks, you should come build me something like that! LOL

I have a question, you mentioned about the shaving and droppings and someone said about putting them in the garden, I would like to do that with my brooder clean outs but what about the shavings, don't they mess it up? I mean can you really put the shavings in the garden with the poo? Or how do you do that? Sorry I generally don't recycle my poo just throw it out like the cat litter.

It's SUPER easy!!! I think I posted all the pieces of wood you would need. If you were CLOSER i would LOVE TO! i love to build. I must have gotten that from my dad. Anyways....I'm sure you can dump it all in the garden. I mean, they make cedar for flower beds and trees right??? I dont have a garden or anything going right now, mainly because we live in the worst environment for planting EVER. Cliche (spelling may be wrong).... So when you dig, you hit a giant boulder... in order to put in a septic tank, we had to use a jackhammer to get the hole easy enough to dig out.

Have you put the heat lamps on and tested that so it does not get to hot in either section?
It looks great but I would worry about the 2 heat lamps and them being to close and no place for the little ones to go if they get to hot. Especially up on top.

And the one on top with the pool looks to close to the lamp and may cause a fire.

Right now, i do not have anyone in the bottom, they are all too small still, and i never thought id have SO MUCH ROOM! Afterall I have 50 chicks! LOL! The top brooder... I actually moved the light about 3 feet higher now that they are 1 week old. It was right at 98 when it was that low in the beginning, now that they are at 90-95 degrees, I had to adjust. And will adjust again soon!

I will move seperate them once they get bigger, and by then they could probably use a MUCH MUCH smaller light bulb. So i wouldnt be as worried about that lower level one.
