I'm so proud of our little pullets! At only about 25 weeks they're beginning to lay some GIGANTIC brown eggs! The egg on the right is about the size of an extra large which is the norm now.

The one we found this morning was so big it has a pucker at the end where it looks like there wasn't enough shell to cover it! It looks like a goose egg! Our girls are the Rhode Island Red/Sex Links. These are our first girls and we never knew they'd be so much fun!

We got our first egg (if you can call it that cause it sure didn't look like an egg

) about 20-21 weeks and by the end of the week all four girls were laying 1 a day. Did anyone else feel really guilty cracking that first egg? It took me about a week to bring myself to break one--I was so proud of my girls and it felt 'wrong' destroying all their hard work

YES! There's a commercial on TV right now about a lady that REALLY needs to go to the bathroom so she drops her grocery bags on sidewalk and runs inside. All I noticed was the broken eggs and I thought - those poor chickens did all the work and you DROPPED them??????
