Cattle egrets! Their cool birds to watch, looking for bugs around cattle, horses and riding around on their backs.
Do you have a goldfish or Koi pond, if you do watch out, they love fish, too!

When I use to raise cattle, it was always funny to see 3 or 4 riding around on their backs...my horses wouldn't put up with them on their backs, they would start bucking and running, fun to watch, almost like the egrets knew they were bugging the horses and would do it on purpose.

Very cool Kathy!

We get them around the lakes here. All kinds of different herons and egrets.

I had one egret visit my pond. Hung around all day eating frogs.

Were there two different types? The photos sure look that way. The close ups look different than a snowy egret head to me. Regardless, they’re gorgeous birds!
