Look what I found in CO...(Pics Added)

I haven't asked her that question, but I don't think she does. I'll ask the next time I email her. We're trying to figure out what breeds we want to get in the spring. None of our birds have been vaccinated either.

If anyone is still reading this, I'm picking up chicks from Aimee tomorrow. We're getting 2 ameraucanas, a feather legged cuckoo maran, and a bantam cochin pair. I'm so excited!!! And no, none of the birds have been vaccinated.

We've been emailing back and forth for weeks!!

We had a tragic event happen last weekend. Our broody passed away last weekend, and since she left the nest both chicks died too. It was 2 days before our hatch day.

I'm looking forward to getting the babies home to ease the pain of last weekends loss!

The cochin pair are a surprise for my son!!

Other than the chick mix up how are the chicks? Good quality for the money?

I'll post pics tomorrow!!
Sonja

I'm sorry to hear of the loss, that's so hard I know

They are good quality and I like the fact that they're local and they are the nicest women. And that matters to me. Make sure to look at the littel parrot that Wendy has in the store. It is the cutest little thing ever. Check back and tell us about your experience and whatcha came home with

We're back!!!

Aimee was awesome. She brought all of the chicks from the maran hatch with her, so we had our pick. We ended up taking a late hatch maran home with us because she was just so sweet!! She'll need some extra TLC, but she's a fighter. She survived an hour and a half trip home!

We also brought home the 2 cochin bantam pair. They're the 2 on the "started birds" page of her website. They're very good quality, and beautiful!!! They were a gift to my 10 y/o son, and he was thrilled. They're living in his room until the weather stays warm.

We also brought home a buff ameraucana and a wheaten ameraucana. They have beautiful coloring already and came from blue eggs. I'm expecting great things from this pair!! We have a single EE who turned out to be a dud, she lays brown eggs

.

I think we may be making another trip, I just checked her site and she has silkies hatching.

I must continue to feed my chick-diction!!

Congrats on the new members!! Did you get a chance to see the parrot?

I did see the Showgirls posting that they're hatching TODAY!!! I told her to save me one. Be sure to put up pics when you get them. Did she have any Salmon Favs left?

Here are some pics of the new babies!!

The tiny maran was doing really well this morning, and took a turn this afternoon.

She's very weak and sleeps a lot. I keep giving her beak dips of avia charge and praying she survives. So far so good!! Aimee gave her to me because she wasn't sure if she'd make it. I emailed today to see if I could get 2 silkies soon in the event she doesn't!! Coco seems to be sad that her pal isn't doing well.

Aimee, didn't have any faverolles left, but the wheaten ameraucanas were really pretty!! I'm glad we got one.

We LOVED the parrot!!! She sat on everyone's shoulders. We also got to see the sugar gliders, button quail, bearded dragons, ducks, and outdoor chickens. I may have to get a pair of seramas now!!! I think they need AA meetings for chicken addicts, I could have come home with a bunch more chickens!!

I've come across that site before and it's an attractive site, visually. Wish they had more pictures of their birds. And they should know that it's "Orpington" not "OrpHington". Anyone else here ever get birds from them?

Edited to correct my typo leaving out a letter in the word "Orpington" since it bothers some too much. The point was simply to say that someone selling a breed should spell it correctly. It's obvious that the breeder did believe that there was an "H" in Orpington because she spelled it that way on her website every time. Sorry, Aimee, not meant as anything but a correction and statement of fact. As I said in the post above, your site is visually appealing

I was going to say, I won't be buying chicks from anyone who thinks they have 'Buff Orphingtons'. If they can't even get the name right, I doubt they breed quality birds.
