Look what I found in my rabbit pen Jan 2nd!!!!

Thanks. I think it was Dec 30th. I remember because it was 2 days b4 we put all the flowers/plants etc in the greenhouse. The boy bunny was trying to chew through dh's repair job on the cage again and dh had to stop what he was doing and make a whole new partition and put between them. I think that would make them 'due' around the 28th if it the gestation period is 29 days. Yikes!!! 29 days that is really fast lol. I guess I will be buying some new wood and wire this week. Did you make nest boxes for yours? I think I should separate the females early so they can get used to thier new cages before giving birth. The lady I got them from said one of the females had given birth before and the babies died because the person she got it from didnt know she was pregnant (not sure what that means).. The other two are probably about 7 mos old and havent given birth before. I really wanted to wait until spring before letting any of them get pregnant, and then only maybe one of them lol. Uh oh I think I am in trouble... Oh,I just thought of something else.. all these baby bunnies, if the due date is the 28th, would be due the same day as my last staggered hatch-out-date chicken eggs! I am going to have to do some reading up on bunny pregnancy etc. know of a good website?

Sounds like the first previous didn't know her rabbits that well. She lost an accidental litter because of that woman. Poor bunnies. I guess I thought this involved just randomly breeding two different dq colors together, and not an oops litter. Sorry about that. But still, getting involved with showing is still going to be better.

I don't build my nest boxes. I buy the metal ones from tsc tractor supply.

the gestation period for most rabbits is 32 days. Some will have them between 28-32. Most of mine, save for a couple, go the full 32.

No no.. its 30-32 days period, I just meant by day 29 she might start ripping her fur out for a nest or playing with her hay, also if the other two are that young its possible they may not even have any, I been trying to breed my rabbits and the females who never had any babies were never interested in the males, ran and never got preggy, but by them being in cages side by side its still a good chance, also if there not big rabbits 5 gallon buckets work extremly well for a nesting box, momma has plenty room to feed them without stepping on them and keeps the air off the top of them and sides, and putting hay toward the front the babies cant get out either.... so far LOL
