Those aren't Marans, they're likely mutts. Often crossing black with colors like wheaten, BBR, duckwing, etc can create a good mockery of the Black Copper coloration.

ok got an egg..just got home from work it's cream colored! they are really nice looking birds anyway though... I'll post some more pics tommorrow but I'm leaning towards some sort of cross to.. his legs aren't yellow but they are not dark like hers are.

now I'll just have to decide on what roosters to keep... I already have 5!

Just saw the photo, provided that legs were yellow it could have been a pair of Welsummers, coloring and comb are spot on, except the hen is a might too dark. But with the cream colored eggs that blows that out of the water, probably a cross. Welsummers lay really dark eggs too, like a barnvelder, or maran. How fun!
