Awwww! I just love when chickens actually hatch the eggs. We almost never use incubators anymore because the hens do such a great job at hatching and raising them.

Awww I have never used an incubator and. Never plan to btw I am getting my first hatchery chick others got from frinds etc..........

I have a question about this (and BTW yes, so cute!) We aren't there yet - our first pullets are still only about 12 weeks old. But when the time comes and the hen goes broody, do you hurry up and order eggs for overnight delivery, so you can give them to her ASAP?

I am not a 100% sure how everyone does it but from what I read you want to get them soon and make sure she isnt sitting on any fertilized eggs to start with that way if its a couple days before you get the eggs she isnt hatching them at a different time as she may not sit and wait real long.

We just had 3 about a month ago and they are a joy. The only thing is how much they will eat over the next few monts.
