I agree that she looks like there is some lab in her. I had a lab for 12 years and was a wonderful dog, but ours was huge. He had bigger paws and chest though at that age so yours might stay smaller, especially with the mix. They are exceptionally good natured dogs and great with kids.
The males tend to be roamers so I wouldn't be surprised if that is the unknown daddy.
When we went to buy a puppy for my then 6 year old we ended up coming home with two!
