Look who arrived today!

So, my buddy, who was supposed to split this order with me, backed out. I do not have the space for 15 chickens. 10 max. Luckily, my other good friend has been planning on chickens for a while. He is shifting into hi gear to get his coop and run ready and is excited about getting our extra chicks. Things work out.
You should keep the little one. I don't think you should worry about her, but I think that she is a special little girl.

We're definitely keeping Amp.

This morning, when I had part of the top off to say hello, hold some and change food and water, one of the Barred Rocks got some air and almost made it to the lip of the brooder. The only thing that stopped her was my hand. I've also found crap on top of the waterer. I need to be careful, if one of them hits the floor, I may not get them back. If the dog doesn't eat them, then there are way to many places to hide in the garage.

We just lay a piece of chicken wire over the top of the "brooder", which for us was a big rubbermaid bin. If you bend it down around the sides a little, it works fine. Don't really need anything to weigh it down - just having it there will keep them from flying out.

Thats what I'm using now. I was thinking about when I'm in there changing water or shavings etc. They're only 2weeks old now. I can't imagine what they'll be like in 2 more weeks.

Found some packs of instant oatmeal in the back of the pantry. Kind of old. I put a pack of Apples and Cinnamon and some sand in the food plate today. Mmmm tasty treat is all gone.

Mine is one month and one time, we were in the car and she was at the bottom of my feet in a box with the lid open. then she jumped from there onto my lap! She is so big now!!!

I've noticed a few of them are standing tall, bumping chests with each other and pecking. I really hope thats not a sign of roos. They are 2 weeks and 2 days old now. I shot this video this morning right after I turned on the light and woke them up.
