Looking for a GREAT Ice cream recipe

Best Vanilla Ice Cream Ever!

2 Cups Heavy Cream
2 Cups Half & Half
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Mix everything together until the sugar is completely dissolved - a whisk works great. No cooking! Pour it into the ice cream maker and let it freeze.

This is the easiest and best ice cream recipe I've ever tried. You can add chocolate sauce or Oreos or anything else that sounds good. We have an electric Cuisinart ice cream maker (with a compressor, so no ice or salt is needed), and we make this recipe a couple of times a month in the summer. All of our friends request it when they come over.

Are you wanting a recipe for those new ice cream makers or one for the old ice cream freezers that spin for like 30 minutes out on the porch. IF you are wanting one for the old spin around type, what size is the one you will be using 4 quarts or 6 quarts? I have THE best homemade ice cream recipes.

It's totally sweet enough. The kids and DH love it to bits. It doesn't separate at all, when you melt in the chocolate chips into the half and half it does a great job of blending the two, I suppose it's because the chocolate chips are milk based. We have an old fashioned ice cream maker that plugs in and uses ice and salt. It feels pretty fancy to not have to crank it like I did as a kid.

I have a great recipe that I make using blackberries. Would you be interested?? If so, I will post in the morning!! It is midnight now and I don't want to go hunting!!

KristenH - I have the newer type where you freeze the container and then put it in the machine - it gets to soft set stage then you take it out and freeze it in whatever container you want. Well - I guess you'd consider it "new" - its a Cuisinart - but I got it at a yardsale..so its "used new" LOL

I will take ANY and ALL icecream recipes!
