Looking For A list Of Best Mite Treatments For Chickens.

I can only say that I and my wife are now mite free. Those things were gross and the $19.99 dollar bottle of Permethrin 10 from TSC resolved our issue we only applied it to the chicken and their bedding and roosts. The instructions said there was no withdrawal period for the eggs. Of course we had to buy a 1 gallon sprayer bottle from HD too and it cost us $9.99 to disperse it.

Our TSC runs more expensive then others. I'll look at the price of that stuff, but I also want a treatment that is low risk of poisoning.

seems like right around this time, when the weather starts to turn good and the sun heats things up, all those horrible crawly things come out. Mites, lice, ick. I do a thorough cleaning of the hen house, cast out all the old bedding, wash it down and then I use sevin dust. I am always very careful to dust the girls in the garage. (I have a big garage) I use a container like a dish pan and then put some in a knee high stocking with some sevin and I'll puff it under the wings, inside cracks, on their bottom. I'm very careful to use this away from the outside environment because sevin It's very toxic to bees. I do not apply any to their dust bathing area. I will apply it with the puff pad inside the house on the roosts and inside the nest box area.

Never heard of that stuff.
We have lots of bees in our area, mostly bumblebees, & honey bees.

Yes. Toxic to bees, safe for us. You can find it in the gardening section, It's used to dust plants and vegetables to kill off harmfull insects. Personally, I'd never use the stuff in my garden since it is so bad for beneficial insects. You can find it anywhere including Meijer or Walmart. Like any treatment, keep it out of the eyes.
