Looking for a male saint bernard

Good luck at the vet tomorrow. I don't know if you had planned on it, but it would be a good idea to get her a shot of Oxytocin tomorrow when you go to clean her out. Congrats on the pups!

so, once things calm down a bit, let us know how they stack up regarding size and sex.

For anyone else who is reading this: It is not recommended to move a ***** during the last week of her pregnancy unless it is absolutely necessary. This is a time when she should be relaxing in her whelping area getting comfortable and ready for her puppies. If you DO move her, you may have the same experience this OP did, puppies being whelped in your car. Not ideal. ;)

Congrats on your litter. Now the real nail biting begins. I am a nervous wreck for the first 3 weeks every single time.

Good luck!

I am right now.

I just took her temp again and now says 98.9....how slow does it go down or is it fast?

but you did post that her temp dropped. 1 day ago. when the temp goes down, it is 24 hours before the pups come! The drop is short-lived, that's why they recommend checking several times a day. It's because it's easily missed :)

Good luck with all those chubby babies!

did you take her to the vet for xrays to check for a last pup? it's always a good idea because a retained pup can lead to death! Let the vet do a full check and make sure

Those are good normal sized puppies. Keep watch on the weights. You may not see much of a gain in the first 24 hours. In fact in some puppies you may see a slight loss, however by day 2 it should be re bounding.

DEFINITELY agree with Dainerra, a vet check is a MUST, TODAY.

Also, I keep going with the am and pm temp chart for 10 days post whelping. Anything over 102, or if there is a clear rise in temperature, consult your vet. This can be the first warning of a uterine or breast infection, and can save your *****'s life.

I did not realize that was the start of the drop not much of a difference in what it was running normally. In hindsight it was more then likely the start of it dropping. I retook it that night too but 4-5 later and it was in the 99's again.

yeah, the drop doesn't last long from what I know from my breeder friends. And it isn't a huge drop either.
I'm trying to picture a St Bernard in labor in the back seat of a car!

I'm still debating on one or not...lol I need another dog like a hole in my head..
but I miss my Duke so much..and I want another big male Saint.
Decisions ..decisions ..lol
