Looking for a Mints Recipe

I am planning my Christmas cooky boxes and thought I'd add homemade mints this year. I searched all the recipes that I have of my Mother's and can't find her recipe. I know she cooked them on the stove and poured them onto wax paper from a spoon. It made nice round creamy mints. She DID NOT use cream cheese and they weren't like a fondant. Her's melted in your mouth and weren't pasty like some I've tried. I have round mint molds that I would like to use. Can anyone help me with a recipe? I'd be very grateful.

I make chocolate mints. You use almond bark chocolate and mint oil. It taste great and is easy to make. You determine how minty they taste and you can use the white chocolate just as easy. You can also use food coloring to make them Christmas colors. I usually use a straw as a dropper for the mint oil and add 3 or 4 drops to 3 blocks of chocolate. It's an idea if you can't find the other you are looking for

I make mints all the time with Almond Bark and Mint Oil and if I think it is to thick I add teaspoon at a time of shorten! I use molds! People ask for them for events and buy them for other events!

How about a butter mint? I never tried this one but I might this year!


Ingredients:

* 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
* 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
* 1 tablespoon whipping cream
* 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
* red food coloring

Preparation:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter well; blend in powdered sugar gradually, mixing until smooth. Add whipping cream, peppermint extract, and food coloring; blend well. Spoon batter into a cake decorator tube and using a shaped tip, press shapes onto waxed paper. Let mints set up for 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
Makes 3 to 4 dozen mints.

I am afraid I have forgotten my Great Grandmother's pudding recipe, because I never wrote it down. I can't find another recipe like it (no cornstarch, only 1-2 tbs flour). I'm just going to have to take a day and waste food practicing, I am afraid.

It's not really a 'mint', but it's minty. You can buy chocolate or vanilla almond bark coating. Crush a pack of mint oreo cookies and mix them into the melted chocolate. Spread them into a pan and chill for an hour. Then cut into small pieces. My kids LOVE them. Call them 'Hulk Cookies'.

Oh they're fantastic. We took them along to Thanksgiving with us this year. All four houses LOVED them. It's called Oreo Bark. You can, obviously, use different combos with different flavors. Regular oreos and chocolate bark is good too. But I love mint.
