Hello!
I manage a small feed store and we are preparing to build 24 - 72"x24"x24" cages for selling chicks. I am trying to find an alternative way to keep the birds warm without spending a fortune. Currently we are using the bulky heat lamps but I would like to find a cost effective alternative and hoped I might get some ideas from this group. I've considered in-floor heating but can't find anything that will generate sufficient heat at a reasonable cost. I've also looked at heating coils but the cost is too high. I'm hoping to find a low profile option that would mount to the ceiling of each cage making for easy access without being in the way.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Is this for keeping them in a large room or building until they are sold? Is the room/ building insulated? I don't have a suggestion, just trying to get a better idea of the situation/ problem. I assume the room has a source of power?
Think it's a showroom. It looks like what the shiptons here does for their chick days
