Looking For Baby Duckies?

Hi Birdy Friends!! My sister has had a loss of ducks and chickens. Where would one look at the end of fall/ the start of winter for baby critters?! I don’t even know where to start. Lord’s Willing, I would love to get her some for Christmas. Any ideas are welcome, Like I said, I don’t know where to start! Thank you in advance! Have a blessed day!!!

Just keep in mind that if you get them at Christmas it might still be too cold to have them outside when they're grown, depending on where she lives.

She might enjoy hatching them herself... You could get her an incubator and some hatching eggs. I bought my hatching eggs on ebay. I just hatched 8 of 12 call duck eggs I purchased on ebay about 2 1/2 months ago and I've just Loved every minute of it.

Depends on the breed you want but Hoover’s Hatchery had a few breeds available in December. Have to order online and have them shipped

That's a great idea! It's kind of hard to receive animals as a surprise gift, since they do require so much work and care. You really need to be prepared for it!

It would be heartbreaking to try for shipped winter chicks or ducklings as a gift and none survive the potentially freezing trip.
