Looking for beautiful Breeds

While I don't know on the heat tolerant part, the Sultans that we got this year have been very friendly and look really interesting. Appenzeller Spitzhaubens are very interesting with their crest and spangled feathers. I also agree with the people who have suggested Andalusians, Black Sumatras, Campines, Egyptian Fayoumis, and Polish. The Blue Andalusian hen we have is nine years old and has had no issues in the winter. The Sumatras, Campines, and Fayoumis all look really pretty, but all the ones that we have had have been flighty. The biggest problem with the Polish, and this also goes for the Sultans and Spitzhaubens as well, was that they couldn't see very well and are easy targets for predators. Faverolles are a favorite with their fluff and sweet personalities, but I'm not sure how they do in hot weather. Cream Legbars look really interesting and also lay blue eggs.
For bantams, I would suggest Sebrights and the previously suggested d'Uccle bantams. Both of these breeds are stunning to look at and can tolerate winters. If feathered feet are a problem the d'Anvers could work in place of the d'Uccle, but I have never raised them. Cochins are also sweet, but their feathers may make them less cold hardy. A frizzled Cochin may do better in a hot climate.

Hedemoras are my new favorite. Swedish land race, with a furry undercoatand a smaller tan egg! Also, Sulmtalers which are heavier and lay a cream/white egg. This is the first year that I've ever had white eggs in my flock, and although I love those Sulmtaler's I'm not sure that I will keep them. They just started laying!

Where do you get Hedemoras? I love their looks, but I can't find them anywhere. Plus I'd be concerned they would get too hot too easily where I'm moving
