I am looking for a person or business that can "board" 6 hens for
6 months. (End of October to end of April.) Ideally it would be
someone who has already cared for chickens before and has a clean safe
place for them to live this winter. I figure $800 to care for the
birds would be reasonable for someone who already has the facilities.

I am in California, but am willing to take them to a warm winter location
in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington.

Standard size: Jersey Giant, Ameraucana, Rhode Island Red,
Buff Orpington.

Bantam size: 2 Buff Partridge Cochins.

I also have a tame Buff Partridge Cochin rooster, but have someone
who can take him. He is very good looking, so he would be good
if someone wants to breed him.

Thanks,

Steve

Hope you can find someone. I am 30 min north of Seattle WA but don't have the space to keep them. All my coops will be occupied this winter due to a late summer hatch of 16 chicks, who will be in the only one I usually have free in the winter. Good luck! I'm too far anyways!

Have you tried craigslist?

steve, that's a lot of money to take care of your chickens. you need someone very very responsible.

i would find a breed that i like and get to know people of that breed and people that show the breeds and get to know the top people. then i would ask them for recommendations of anyone that is in that area you specified that they would allow to keep their own chickens.

putting out that much money, its very obvious you love your chickens. it should be cared for by people that are trustworthy.

I would have to sell and start new in the spring, then again I never had the chance to get away for a weekend, let alone 6 months.
