Wonderful news!!! Congrats.Another Update: I made a vet appt for today, so OF COURSE, as soon as my hen found out we were taking a little trip she perked right up! She was acting much better yesterday afternoon, and this morning she seemed to be back to normal - eating & drinking, wandering around scratching and foraging in her yard, flapping her wings, even her poop was completely normal - which I took with me to the vet. She checked out just fine!!They could find nothing abnormal in her stool, her vitals were all good, and she is a good weight with good muscle. The diagnosis was that it most likely WAS the cocci and I treated it properly. THANK YOU SO MUCH @KikisGirls for all the help!! She will stay in her private condo for a couple more days just to make sure she gets her strength back up and so that I can give her plenty of fluids.
As for my younger Buff with the runny nose: Her nose was just barely runny, but I certainly wasn't taking any chances, so she went for a ride as well. And, OF COURSE, no sign of anything today. She did, however, have a tiny abscess under her ear area that he drained and treated. She got a dose of antibiotics and I will keep her in quarantine for a few days and will keep an eye on it and let it heal.
So! After a very stressful week I am feeling grateful for the advice of my fellow chicken lovers and thankful that my hens are on the mend!![]()
Maybe that abscess was making her sneeze?
Now you should go celebrate and eat an ice cream cone...double scoop!
