Looking for pigeons!

If you want a pigeon for indoor pet, consider getting just one. That pet will imprint on you, and you don't need him/her inside a cage all the time. Still good to have a cage for pigeon to go get feed, and water, and sleep for night. Then provide a perch in your room. Pigeons can be also somewhat potty trained. Below their favorite perch, place newspapers on the floor.
If you want multiple birds, I suggest you consider White Doves. They are not pigeons, but from the Dove group,,, same as Mourning Doves. You can have the White doves, as pets. I think Mourning doves are protected by the Migratory Bird Act.
If you do go the one pigeon route,, I can direct you to some interesting reading by a poster that did such. That poster is not very active in recent times. Posts are there regardless.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

Funnily enough you're not the first person to tell me this about social pigeons and getting just one! So since posting I have decided I will be getting a single bird to keep indoors with me! so far I have everything set up for the new arrival (if not a larger than necessary setup cause I was anticipating two! haha)

I'm incredibly interested in seeing this post as well as if possible could you point me to some credible and ethical sources of getting a nice lil friend?

thank you for the kind wishes!

Ask anything else you need to know.
To possibly find pigeons without going to the stressful shipping route, (as well as expense), Consider contacting a rescue center that may have some. They will give you pigeons. There may be a small fee for their rescue/rehabilitation.
Consider contacting pigeon clubs. There are always peeps willing to part with slow racing stock.
And my last suggestion, available easily for me in Chicago area, but not sure if in your area.
Look up live poultry stores. They may be diversified, and offer pigeons and rabbits as well. Their business is selling processed poultry to take home and cook. They will also let you take purchase live home with you.
